Dunajská Streda - Music Days

After a long time, a classical music concert could take place again in Dunaszerdahely. At the opening concert of the XXIX Dunaszerdahely Music Days, the audience could see and hear the Beliczay Chamber Orchestra in the Vermes Villa, home to the Contemporary Hungarian Gallery.

The Beliczay Chamber Orchestra is named after composer Gyula Beliczay, who was born in Komárom on August 10, 1835, then studied in Bratislava, worked in Vienna and taught at the National Academy of Music in Budapest. The members of the chamber orchestra were former schoolmates at the conservatory and the college of music. They consider their mission to be to promote classical music, which also has a place in the rural cultural palette, members of the orchestra believe.
